What do you need?

  • 1 piece of pork belly
  • 1 tbs roasted sesame seeds
  • 3 finely sliced spring onions
  • 800 g Belgian fries


  • 2 tbs oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 2 crushed garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 2 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 tbs rice vinegar
  • 1 tbs sugar
  • 30 ml water
  • 1 tsp cornflour

How do you prepare it?

  1. Heat the oil, add the chili powder, garlic, ginger. Stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add the soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, water and the cornflour. Stir well and heat up for a few minutes until you have a nice sauce.
  1. Pre-heat the oven to 150 °C. Fry the pork belly on the skin side. Cover with sauce, cook in the oven. Every 10 to 15 minutes, baste with the sauce and leave to cook in the oven for around 30 minutes.
  2. Remove from the oven and garnish with sesame seeds and finely sliced spring onion.
  3. Prepare the Belgian fries according to the instructions on the packaging OR deep fry the Belgian fries ± 5 minutes until golden brown at 170 °C.
  4. Serve with Belgian fries.
